The EMC offers an annual ‘training to teach’ programme for History PGRs and early career historians at registered member institutions of the East Midlands Centre for History Teaching and Learning.
The programme is currently run by Dr Matthew Hefferan and Dr Nick Thomas (University of Nottingham).
The programme offers a series of six workshops on themes including teaching strategies, curriculum design, assessment, and career development, providing participants with the opportunity to consider theoretical approaches to teaching whilst also developing their practical skills.
Participants also have the opportunity to learn and share practice with colleagues working in different institutions across the region, with the aim of building a genuine “community of practice” across the nine EMC institutions.
